Okay ... I didn't exactly dream of becoming a waitress.
But it was my first after school job which instilled in me the utmost respect for all wait staff ...
everywhere!

I Dreamt Of Becoming A Factory Worker

Again, just kidding!

Working in a factory wasn't my "dream job" either but you're probably getting a good idea by now of how I like to put a positive spin on things.

This job helped me raise three children and gave my family the resources for many opportunities such as;

babysitters
dance lessons
gymnastics lessons
skating lessons
piano lessons
swimming lessons
day camps
overnight camps
drama camps (Sadly, no band camps!)
bowling
baseball
hockey
choirs
knitting club
houses
furniture
cars
trucks
snowmobiles
riding lawn mowers
hot tubs
family vacations
bridal showers
engagement parties
bachelorette parties
buck and doe parties
weddings
divorces

This was my first full-time job with;

excellent wages
phenomenal benefits
a fantastic union
a great pension plan

For seventeen years, I worked on;

assembly lines
cutting presses
industrial sewing machines

This factory was known as Canadian Fabricated Products Limited located in
Stratford, Ontario, Canada.

I Dreamt Of Owning My Own Business

This was a true "dream job"!

Once I became a mother, I dreamt of operating a home-based business that would allow me to spend more time with my children.

I took the opportunity to offer Approved Home Childcare
for four years as well as supervising a Before/After School Program at a local facility for one semester.

I Dreamt Of Working In Healthcare

And ... Ta-Dah!

Christmas Day At The Nursing Home

When I was growing up in the 1960s, I was often asked what I wanted to be when I grew up.

I answered the following;

nurse
mom
teacher
secretary
stewardess

Since being a nurse was always at the top of the list,
I was thrilled to be offered a chance to become certified as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) in 2003 through a local nursing home.

I worked in Long Term Care (LTC) for twenty years!

During the Covid-19 pandemic, I decided it was time to begin working for myself again.

I provided home healthcare services to residents in the following areas of Ontario, Canada;

Luminaire Home Care (LHC) was open from May 5, 2020 to September 25, 2023.

A/C blasting in my ears for 5 hours!

I love a good road trip like the trip to Kingston, Ontario pictured above. However, I'm not fond of travel by airplane.
I don't feel that I have aerophobia or acrophobia.

For me, I think it's more about issues like;

(I know … it would be less complicated to have a fear of flying!) But, like I've mentioned before,

I'm A Complex Individual!

I'm also a work in progress.

I still dream about expanding my horizons and overcoming my discomfort with airports and airplanes
so that I can visit countries I've been learning about.
Countries such as;

Switzerland
Germany
France
Ireland
Greece
Australia
England

I Still Dream Of;

I'm not much of a hiker or runner but I do enjoy leisurely strolls on local trails or just laying on the grass,
