Writing

I have always loved writing. I've been writing since I knew what a pencil was. I did my older brother's homework with him before I was old enough to go school.

I made cards for family members that featured poems beginning with,
"Roses are red, Violets are ..." inserting a colour that rhymed.

And, naturally, I wrote poems about boys in my teens but I also continued writing poetry and speeches for family and friends throughout my adult years.

In the late 1990's,
I took a correspondence course from the
Institute Of Children's Literature
located in
West Redding, Connecticut, USA.

Upon completing the course,
Writing For Children And Teenagers,
I was ready to pursue a freelance writing career when, as most people can relate to, life got rather hectic!

Since 2015, I've had the privilege of combining two of my favourite hobbies;
writing and music.

It was an absolute thrill collaborating with many multi-talented musicians at
Taboo Music Studio
in
Guelph, Ontario.

I co-wrote lyrics as part of three original bands;
Blacklyte, Taboo Charlie, and Elusive Groove.

Sometime in the 2,000s, I started surfing the web. I discovered blogging and I knew it was something I wanted to do.

But there was a problem.

I had no clue what a blog was or how to start writing one! I know that a log is a type of journal, like a "Captain's Log", but I could not figure out what the letter "b" stood for in the word "blog".

I pondered this for hours.

I knew it had something to do with the internet. But the word "internet" does not contain the letter "b". No matter how hard I tried, I still couldn't figure it out. But I wasn't about to give in to that Google Search.

NO WAY!

I was going to figure this one out for myself.

I FINALLY GOOGLED IT!

As it turns out, the letter "b" in the word "blog" comes from the last letter in the word "web"... as in... "world wide web"... as in... "web log"

UGH!

Even if blogging had not been invented, I still consider any and all forms of creative writing a dream!

When I'm not fulfilling a creative writer's dream by blogging, I'm still writing.

I write in one of several journals daily ...
kind of like a "Lori's Log".

I track;

daily/weekly/monthly planning
dreams/goals/accomplishments
astrological events
gratitude
food diary

... just to name a few!

I make elaborate "To Do" lists that consist of lists pertaining to the contents and whereabouts of other lists!

OH, MY!!

(It helps me stay organized!
