Organizing
I Love Organizing!
I'm talkin' creepy, crawly, musty, stuffy, dingy basements, attics, and garages! I'm not afraid of any amount of grime, dust or filth that comes along with organizing, purging, decluttering, and downsizing.
However, I am slightly opposed to the brief appearance of any type of critter! They tend to evacuate quickly once I've given them an eviction notice! On one occasion, I was startled by what I thought was a mouse, only to discover that it was actually a cricket!
That's not my hand!
Man, they grow those things big in London, Ontario, Canada!
Of course, I protect myself with the proper safety apparel such as;
- goggles
- masks
- gloves
and the occasional hazmat suit!
And I just love it!
I'm not sure if the task of organizing and cleaning is what I love or if it's the feeling of accomplishment that satisfies me. I think I intentionally let things become disorganized in my own home just so that I'll have something to clean and organize on a regular basis. (At least, that's my excuse!)
Not my house!
When I was staying with a friend, she told me I could, "do whatever I want" while she was at work. A few hours later, I sent her before and after photos of her linen closet. Then another friend saw the photos and recruited me to do the same in her home! I was thrilled because, once again, I would be organizing, purging, decluttering, and downsizing to my heart's content!
I suppose my love and need for organization might be a character trait that falls under the category of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Maybe we all have a little of that in our DNA.
In my case, I think I have it somewhat under control... mostly. It isn't that I can't function on a daily basis if things aren't exactly how I'd like them. I simply prefer things done my way ... the correct way!
Okay, if I have to be totally honest, I will admit, I have refolded the linens at work a few times. Organizing tiny spaces such as sewing baskets and desk drawers brings me great joy as well. And you should see the crazy things I do with paper clips!
